Who founded Kuch Khaas
The idea for Kuch Khaas was born on a smoky rooftop in Lahore.
Zaki and Sajid had gone to a friend’s place to get a custom bar-b-q grill made. While everyone else was busy eating, the two friends couldn’t stop staring at the grill. It wasn’t just a grill—it was beautifully crafted, clean and sharp laser cut finish, full of character, and clearly made with love.
That night, under the stars, a thought struck them: Why do we only make things when someone asks us to? Why not make beautiful things for ourselves?
Zaki was a designer who saw art in everything. Sajid was a developer who could build anything. Together, they realized they didn’t just want to make grills. They wanted to create wall art that told stories, table pieces that started conversations, and kitchen products that felt good in your hands.
They started small—in a dusty garage, with late nights, failed experiments, and endless arguments over colors and curves. Their friends thought they were crazy. But Zaki and Sajid believed that every home deserved something kuch khaas—something special with a soul.
Their first big order was a wall piece made from 1.5mm metal sheet with beautiful calligraphy. When the client said, “It feels like the room is breathing,” they knew they were onto something.
